To the Editor:
As the Chief Probation Officer for Alameda County, I am honored to share the significance of Probation Services Week, which this year is observed from July 21 to July 27. During this time, we honor the probation professionals who are dedicated to ensuring community safety as they support successful rehabilitation and re-entry of justice-involved individuals back into our communities.
In Alameda County, probation professionals work tirelessly to provide accountability, opportunity, and hope for those in our justice system. Our localized approach allows us to tailor re-entry services to meet the unique needs of the people we serve and our community, facilitating long term success for our clients and enhanced community safety.
Probation plays a critical role in public safety and rehabilitation. By offering tailored re-entry services and support, we help individuals transform their lives and get on healthy pathways in our communities.
Please join me in recognizing the invaluable work of our probation professionals during Probation Services Week 2024.
Sincerely,
Brian K. Ford
Acting Chief Probation Officer,
Alameda County Probation Department
