Beginner Bonsai Workshop
Friday, May 30
Calling all budding bonsai buffs! Join Bonsai Bar for a beginner-friendly bonsai workshop on Friday, May 30, at Faction Brewing, 2501 Monarch Street. Attendees are strongly encouraged to arrive by 5:45 p.m. in order to grab a drink, find a seat, and select a tree. Class begins at 6 p.m.
While you’re enjoying a beverage and good company, learn about the fundamentals behind bonsai from the experts. Bonsai Bar is ready to walk you and your friends through potting, pruning, design, and beyond. The tree of the evening is the dwarf jade or Portulacaria afra.
The trees picked for these workshops are designed to be beginner-friendly, so it’s unlikely you’ll harm your tree. Even if you do, Bonsai Bar’s Tree Guarantee has you covered. Be sure to register your tree while you’re at the class, and you’ll be eligible for a “Tree-iage Session” with an expert to help you troubleshoot if you run into obstacles. Even if you accidentally kill your tree, Bonsai Bar will replace it, and it’s completely free.
Grab your ticket online in advance for $100 per person. If you can’t make it on Friday, May 30, do not despair. Bonsai Bar and Faction are teaming up again on Friday, June 27, for an identical class. Happy planting!
