Pets of the Week for May 4, 2024
Aqua and Chewey, our Pets of the Week this week, are so bonded they could be in an ad for Gorilla Glue or Titebond. Their super-tight friendship has helped them acclimate to shelter life, and they need to be adopted together. Since bonded pairs can take a little longer to adopt, we wanted to give these besties a boost here.

Both pups are Chihuahuas. Aqua is a shorthaired 5-year-old female, and Chewey is a long-haired 7-year-old male. She is spayed and he is neutered.
Like all true besties, they like to do everything together. They snooze together, eat together, go on walks together. They even weigh the same: 12 pounds.
They’re both shy at first, but once they warm up, they’re really fun. Aqua is slightly more outgoing than her pal Chewey. Neither like to be separated from the other for even a minute, but FAAS staff feels that once they’re in a forever home, they’ll become more independent of each other and blossom individually while maintaining their BFF-ship.

Aqua and Chewey share a page on the FAAS website. You can meet this adorable pair of pup pals in person any day but Monday, from noon to 4 p.m., at the FAAS main shelter, 1590 Fortmann Way.
Thanks to the Bissell Pet Foundation’s Empty the Shelters event, their adoption fees are only $25 each until May 15.
