The City of Alameda has released a request for proposals (RFP) for Cultural Arts and Arts Programming for 2024. This includes grants for the performing arts, literary arts, film and video, screenings and installations, arts education, art lectures and presentations, special events, and artist-in-residence programs in the arts.

A total of $60,000 is available, to be distributed across four grants of $5,000 and four grants of $10,000. Cultural arts or arts programming must be accessible to the public at no charge, and must be located in the City of Alameda.
“Now that the City has approved the Public Art master plan [PDF], I am excited that the Public Art Commission can start this five-year plan by distributing cultural arts grants,” Public Arts Commission (PAC) Chair Adam Gillitt said. “I am especially proud that the notice of the RFPs has been issued in multiple languages, a first for Alameda’s PAC. I hope we will reach artists and organizations within the city who were not informed of previous opportunities.”
The full press release is available to read or download in seven languages. In addition to English, the release is available in Spanish, Chinese, Tagalog, Vietnamese, Korean, and Arabic.
The complete RFP is available for download (English only). The City will host a virtual RFP Orientation on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at 5 p.m. Zoom login information is available online and is included in the RFP.
DEADLINE: Proposals are due on Thursday, March 21, 2024 by 5 p.m. and must be submitted through Submittable.com.
