Bring Home the Best of Both Worlds with Marscapone

In this week’s FAAS spotlight, we would love to introduce you to Mascarpone, a 7-month-old little lady currently waiting for a home at the FAAS shelter. For those who have visited the facility recently, Mascarpone is a hard face to forget. Named for her sweet nature and gentle disposition, she has quickly become a staff and volunteer favorite.

Mascarpone represents the best of both worlds: she’s young but displays a level of gentleness that is rare for her age. One of her sweetest habits is her “wait and see” approach to meeting new people. Rather than rushing the gate, she will often lay down and wait for visitors to come to her, offering a soft wag of the tail as a reward for their approach. Once the ice is broken, her affectionate side shines through, and she is quick to form deep, loyal bonds with her human friends.

Socially, Mascarpone is an absolute pro. She is remarkably dog-friendly, making her an ideal addition to families who already have a canine companion. She is also a “star pupil” in the making. She is currently in a phase of life where she wants to learn everything possible about her environment. While she does have a bit of a clumsy streak—a common trait for a growing puppy still getting used to her legs—she is incredibly athletic and intelligent.

The ideal home for her would be one that understands the commitment of a puppy. She would benefit greatly from a family ready and willing to provide consistent puppy training. She is highly motivated and eager to learn, and we truly believe she is on the path to becoming a model citizen. By investing time in her now, her future family will be rewarded with a lifetime of love, security, and happiness.

You can meet Mascarpone during open hours at Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter on Fortmann Way or call 510-337-8565 for more information.
