Zippy Zany Zeus is Smart, Sweet, and Easy to Handle

Pet of the Week for November 8, 2025

If you’re looking for a loyal adventure buddy with smarts, stamina, and a sweet streak, Zeus might just be your match. This 5-year-old husky mix is a total gem—handsome, bright, and ready to join you on any walk, hike, or outing you can dream up.

Despite his zippy and zany energy, Zeus is a dream on leash. He doesn’t pull, he ignores other dogs, and he pays no mind to noisy trucks or city sounds. When it’s time to gear up, he stands politely with a wagging tail that says, “Let’s go!”

Zeus loves exploring but also appreciates quiet moments to take in his surroundings. He’s the perfect blend of energetic and easy-going—independent yet affectionate, playful yet composed. This boy is ready to bring joy, adventure, and a little husky humor to your everyday life.

You can meet Zeus at Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter, 1590 Fortmann Way, during open hours—Wednesday and Thursday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please note that nap time for the animals is 1 to 2 p.m. and the last meet time is one hour before closing.

See for yourself why everyone who meets him falls in love.
