Sees is Sweet, Smart, and Eager to Please

Pet of the Week for September 13, 2025

Sees has a friendly, waggy-tailed greeting for everyone she meets. This sweet 1-year-old loves getting ear scratches and affection, and will happily lean in for a cuddle. She’s also very social with other dogs, greeting them with a happy wag on walks and enjoying their company in playgroups. While she’d love a well-matched dog friend in her home, she would also be perfectly happy as a solo dog who gets to play with canine friends out and about.

Don’t let her laid-back nature fool you—Sees is a calm and focused companion who is ready for adventure. On a recent walk through a busy city, she was a total pro, staying cool and calm around traffic, bikes, and loud noises. She’s ready to be your perfect partner for walks, running, or hiking, but she’ll be just as content to settle in for a long cuddle session at the end of the day.

While Sees has a calm demeanor outside the shelter, she can get a little excited in her kennel and express her enthusiasm with a few happy barks and bounces. Her intelligence combined with a little patience makes her a wonderful companion for a first-time or experienced dog owner who understands her desire for routine and adventure. With her good manners, gentle nature, and love of both adventure and affection, Sees is more than ready to find a loving home.

You can meet Sees at Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter, 1590 Fortmann Way, during open hours—Wednesday and Thursday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please note that nap time for the animals is 1 to 2 p.m. and the last meet time is one hour before closing.
