Pets of the Week for September 6, 2025
The kitten tsunami continues at Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter. The annual autumn surge of kittens is keeping FAAS busy, with new arrivals coming in almost every day.

The shelter now has dozens of cats and kittens looking for homes, from playful youngsters to steady, affectionate adults.
To encourage adoptions during this busy season, FAAS has lowered the adoption fee for all cats and kittens to $50 for the entire month of September! And everyone knows cats love being paired with a bestie, so adopters can also take advantage of a two-for-one special, making this an ideal time to bring home a pair of feline companions—a BOGO of the feline variety!
Every adoption not only transforms the life of the cat who goes home, but also makes room for the next animal in need. The shelter hopes the community will step up to help ease the seasonal crowding and experience the rewards of welcoming a new pet.
