Pet of the Week for August 30, 2025
Like his human namesake, Sinatra has beautiful blue eyes — well one blue eye! The other is brown and is just as beautiful. The combination gives this 4-year-old guy uncommon good looks that stop people in their tracks on walks.

And like Sinatra, he does it his way. When you first meet this handsome boy, he may seem a bit shy and stoic. He likes to take his time and check out new places, but once he feels comfortable, he’s a total sweetheart.
He loves getting belly rubs and will gently nudge your hand for more scratches. Sinatra is a smart boy who knows how to sit and shake. He takes treats very gently and is easy to walk on a leash.
Once he’s settled in, Sinatra is a calm and easygoing friend. He’s just as happy relaxing quietly next to you as he is playing with his canine friends. He loves a good game of chase in the dog park. Sinatra would do great with another dog in the home, or as the only dog with a few dog friends he can play with.
He’s ready for a family who understands he needs a little time to warm up.

If you’re looking for a relaxed, loving friend, Sinatra is ready to find his forever home. You will croon with happiness if you bring him home!
You can meet Sinatra at Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter, 1590 Fortmann Way, during open hours—Wednesday and Thursday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please note that nap time for the animals is 1 to 2 p.m. and the last meet time is one hour before closing.
