Bear’s-Eye View of Alameda for December 28, 2025

Feliz Navidad!

This year’s seasonal greeting was inspired by my desire to have fajitas for my holiday meal. I don’t know any Chihuahuas, so I hope I got the spelling right.A dog by a tree.

A small Christmas tree in a red pot. This report covers my adventures leading up to December 25. I was lucky this year to rescue a redwood tree that someone had discarded. My HC (human companion) said it was not salvageable and that it looked just like the stupid tree that Charlie Brown got. Well, I proved him wrong, because after adding some lights, aluminum foil tinsel, and a festive red pot, it was one of the best trees I ever saw.Dinosaur dog toy.

The only problem was that the dinosaur present I got from Auntie Caren and Uncle Les was as big as the tree.A table set for a meal.

My HC did a great job of setting the table and making things look festive. By the way, if you want your dog bowl washed, the fastest way to get it done is to invite company over for dinner. He spent two days cleaning the house.

This year, I had over 700 photos to sort through in preparation for this report. With that many images, I elected to put them into four videos for your viewing pleasure. I especially like “Dogs Like Christmas Too.” The song comes from Chris Isaak.

Video One has a bunch of pictures, including the house on Nason Street and Buena Vista Avenue, while Video Two features 1410 Santa Clara Avenue and Courageous Court.

Video Three has images from my good buddy Tucker’s house.

I have covered Alameda’s Christmas Tree Lane and South Shore Shopping Center for the past two years. This year I literally ran out of time and hit a bunch of bad weather, which prevented me from covering both locations. Since most of the displays remain the same, I have included my coverage from two years ago.

The final video is dedicated to Charlotte, who lives at 1615 Chapin Street. I have covered this yard many times for many holidays over the years, and I want to give her a double high-four as well as a big old howling bark for the job she did this year. You really need to stop by and see her display.

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and that you are resting up for ringing in 2026.
