Remove! Reverse! Reclaim! Protest at City Hall

Alameda resident Tina Davis is organizing the Remove! Reverse! Reclaim! Protest that will take place on Saturday, April 5, from noon to 1 p.m. in front of City Hall. The event is intended to speak out against “the unconstitutional, illegal, and immoral acts that the Trump administration and its officials/non-officials have done, are doing, and are planning to do,” according to the event description.

Inspired by 50501‘s Remove, Reverse, Reclaim Protest taking place on the same day, Davis, a registered nurse, told the Alameda Post that her main goal for bringing the event to Alameda is to “make it easier for people in the area to come out for a simple, peaceful protest while promoting solidarity, inclusivity, and an ongoing sense of community in Alameda and the surrounding areas in the face of the Trump/Musk regime’s unconstitutional, illegal and immoral actions.”

Now, more than ever, Davis feels it’s important for people to gather and let their voices be heard.

“We are currently experiencing a fast-moving fascistic takeover and a ham-fisted dismantling of our government,” she said. “The results have and will continue to cause profound and even irreparable damage to the majority of people in this country (and worldwide) on a massive scale.”

Davis encourages participants to bring signs expressing their views in opposition with the administration’s actions and policies. She also encourages people to bring anything they may need during the hour, such as snacks, water, weather-appropriate clothing, comfortable shoes, and, most importantly, friends.

“I hope to make people in Alameda and the surrounding communities more aware of the current existential crisis our country is facing and to encourage them to stand up and resist this fascism in all ways possible, large and small,” Davis said of what she envisions for the day. “I am so happy to play a small part in helping put Alameda on the map as a decidedly pro-democracy city!”
