Mexican Lager Launch Party at Alameda Brewing

Friday, January 30

It’s time for a fiesta! Alameda Brewing is re-introducing their Mexican Lager on Friday, January 30. Stop by the taproom at 1716 Park Street from 5 until 10 p.m. to join the party.

Alameda Brewing enthusiasts will remember the brew under its former name, Hasta la Raíz. The Mexican Lager is officially back in the rotation with a new name, Pachuco.  Enjoy the beer on its own, or in a cocktail with micheladas and chavelas.

Festivities for the evening include a live mariachi group, pan dulce, and Mexican candies. There’s no cover charge, and no reservations are required. While you’re there, you can also watch the Warriors take on the Pistons at 7 p.m. on the taproom TVs.

Alameda Mahjong Social Club Fundraiser for the Alameda Food Bank

Sunday, February 1

Supporting the Alameda Food Bank (AFB) is always a good choice, and this week it’s extra fun! Join the Mahjong Social Club at the Alameda Food Bank’s new facility, 677 West Ranger Avenue, on Sunday, February 1, for a mahjong fundraiser from 1 until 4:30 p.m.

Participants are invited to enjoy light refreshments, engage in some friendly competition, and make new friends. If you’ve been curious about the beautiful new AFB facility, it’ll also be a great opportunity to see the new digs. Tickets are $40 and going fast.

A limited number of “First Timer” tickets will be available for brand new players. Event organizers ask that participants who have played before—even just once—select a “General Admission” ticket. Players will be grouped according to skill level, so you’ll be in good company even if you’re still learning.
