If you like singing along to Sixties hits, you’ll love “Wild Women of the Sixties,” presented by Pamela Rose at Rhythmix Cultural Works, 2513 Blanding Avenue, on Saturday, January 24, 7 to 9 p.m.

Singer and bandleader Rose and her talented all-gal band offer this brand new show to shine a light on the women songwriters who gave us an unforgettable generational soundtrack. The show weaves fascinating biographical detail into performance, while the audience gets to revisit and sing along with the best Sixties hits.
Celebrate—and sing along with—hit songs by Carole King, Laura Nyro, Valerie Simpson, Cynthia Weil, and Aretha Franklin, including “You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling,” “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow,” “Wedding Bell Blues,” “Both Sides Now,” “Think!” and many more.
Rose created a great ensemble band, featuring Daria Johnson on drums, Ruth Davies on bass, Kristen Strom on saxophone, Janice Maxie Reed on keyboards, and Nancy Wenstrom on guitar. They all take star turns singing these unforgettable hit songs.
Pamela Rose has previously been best known for her critically acclaimed “Wild Women of Jazz and Blues” shows, and has toured nationally at a range of venues including SFJAZZ, the Monterey Jazz Festival, Stanford Jazz, Feinstein’s (NY and SF), Cal Performances, Annenberg Center, Tonnhalle (Germany), Copenhagen Jazz Festival, Yoshi’s, Haugh Center for the Arts, and the Fillmore Jazz Festival.
Her new show, “Wild Women of the Sixties” promises to be a wonderful evening of music, friendship, and nostalgia for everyone in attendance. And seriously, singing along is highly encouraged!
