Alameda artist Andres “The Boss” Landau, a Creative Growth studio artist, will present his first solo exhibit at Project Burger, 2319 Central Avenue (next to Alameda Theatre & Cineplex), with an opening reception on Sunday, October 12, from 3 to 7 p.m.

The exhibition, titled The Boss, will feature a diverse collection of Landau’s work, including vibrant portraits of musicians, scenes from his travels to Cuba and Nicaragua, and serene Alameda landscapes. His neurodivergent vision of the world captures unique perspectives and color palettes.
Landau is a celebrated artist from Creative Growth, a nonprofit that provides a studio environment for artists with developmental disabilities, fostering their inclusion in the contemporary art world.
“Andres is mostly non-verbal, so he expresses his unique view of the world through his art,” says Valerie Landau, his aunt.
His work is featured on four album covers for Round Whirled Music, a label run by his father and uncle, both multi-Grammy-nominated musicians.
This exhibition marks a significant milestone for Landau, offering the public a comprehensive look into his creative journey and remarkable talent. The free opening reception will feature delicious snacks and no-host bar plus a cumbia DJ and jam session featuring renowned local musicians who are fans of the “Boss.”
Exhibit hours are Tuesday through Thursday noon to 7 p.m., Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Project Burger’s regular menu features grass-fed beef, halal lamb, and plant-based options as well as salads and Middle Eastern favorites.
