Twenty Alameda nonprofit organizations received grants totaling $24,000 from the Rotary Club of Alameda at the Rotary meeting on Tuesday, December 9. These grants come from generous donations made by Rotarians to their favorite Alameda charities and are matched by the Alameda Rotary Endowment Foundation.

At the Rotary awards meeting, these nonprofits shared their mission and the projects for which they plan to use the grant money. Some examples include Trinity Lutheran Church Dine & Connect Program, First Presbyterian Church of Alameda Immigrant Relief Fund, Community Action for a Sustainable Alameda tree planting in a local park, Alameda Education Foundation teacher mini-grants, Rhythmix Cultural Works Performing Arts learning for kids program, Midway Shelter kits for clients moving into a new home, and the Feather House Foundation household items for foster kids moving into their first own home after aging out of the foster care system.
